Interpellée par une formulation de Dave lors d’une conversation informelle indiquant « avoir été adopté par une petite amérindienne, qui s’appelle Fleur », Anne lui a proposé un entretien sur l’histoire de cette paternité. Les extraits de cet entretien que nous proposons en lecture participent au questionnement de la notion d’éducation sentimentale, en mettant au jour la manière dont les sentiments ont façonné un sujet et sont également façonnés par ce sujet. This essay offers a reading of a life experience, a sentimental journey. It highlights some of the knowledge upon which this sentimental experience and journey have been shaped. At the same time, it reveals how these knowledges have contributed to its construction. The discussion is based on an interview between researchers Anne Dizerbo and Dave Bénéteau de Laprairie. In an informal conversation, Dave mentioned that he “had been adopted by a little Amerindian girl called Fleur”, prompting Anne to ask him about the history of this paternity. The extracts from this interview, which we present for reading, question the notion of sentimental education.
